Wooo! Simple plan rules!
Anyways, thanks for all your comments on my blogs, greatly appreciated <3
Now I need your help on something, I'm in my social studies class right now, and I was wondering if you guys could answer a few questions regarding my project.
So, I'm doing my project on copyrights. And I'm doing this because currently in where I live (New Zealand)there are people called Maori. They're the original people of NZ and they have many sacred arts. The problem is, people all over the world are now copying their arts without permission and they want to protect their culture from misuse. Thus, they wish to issue a copyright, so what I'm asking is.
Do you think it's wise for them to want this copyright?
Because it's kind of like them copyrighting their culture, do you guys think it's logical? Or do you think they're just wasting their time?
Free cookies for anyone who answers :)

Well if people are copying their art then I think they have every right to copy right their sacred arts, even if is does sound a little weird.
P.S. Do I get a cookie now???
i want cookies!
i mean, ahem, they can copyright it if they wish but i don't see what good it'll do them.
they may get money from royalites but will it really protect their culture?
i would say that they would probably lose more of it in the long run.
also, they'll never be able to stop every copying of their culture as how can you really define exactly what a culture is?
are they gonna point at people using body paint and say 'copyright'?
i think not...though it is a toughie...cookies now please!
:)
